For Us by Us. Generation Z and Cultural Heritage

What does the so-called “Generation Z” (that is, young people born between 1995 and 2010) think about museums? And, above all, is it possible for these same young people to tell the story of cultural heritage to their peers?

This is the challenge of the pilot project “For Us by Us. Generation Z and Cultural Heritage,” an educational program on cultural heritage promoted by the Directorate-General for Museums and carried out in collaboration with the Directorate-General for Education, Research and Cultural Institutes – MiC, and with the Sed – Center for Museum and Territorial Educational Services, in which the National Roman Museum takes part. The students involved are those of class III C of Liceo Virgilio, engaged in a PCTO project (Pathways for Transversal Skills and Orientation); together, we worked to find the words and images to tell part of our Museum’s story.

The pilot project on cultural heritage education, promoted by the Directorate-General for Museums and carried out in synergy with the Directorate-General for Education, Research and with the Center for Educational Services, involves the participation of the National Roman Museum.
